Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (FSU) (Jerman Friedrich Schiller-Universität Jena-, bahasa sehari-hari Uni Jena), pertama kali didirikan pada tahun 1558, dan merupakan salah satu dari sepuluh universitas tertua di Jerman. Universitas Jena adalah sebuah universitas riset publik yang terletak di Jena, Thuringia, Jerman.

Jena telah dianugerahi gelar Jerman itu "Kota Ilmu" di tahun 2008.

Since the university buildings are all located in the downtown area and most of the residence halls are in the suburbs, students use public transportation regularly. There is an excellent round-the-clock tram service and a ride to the downtown area takes only 10-15 minutes.

The semester contribution paid to Student Services includes 6-month access for all public transportation in and around Jena. With the student ID and a form of personal ID (for example, a passport), students have unlimited use of Jena buses and trams as well as the regional trains throughout the State of Thuringia.
